Experience

John Creasy is the director of Garfield Community Farm, an urban permaculture project on 2.5 acres of formerly abandoned land in Pittsburgh, PA. In 2008 John began the farm along with The Open Door Church and many volunteers from around the neighborhood. John also acquired the help of permaculture designer and farmer Darrell Frey of Three Sister's Permaculture Farm to help with the process of healing the abandoned city land. Garfield Community Farm now hosts a weekly farmer's market in Garfield, a 17 member CSA and supplies for five restaurants. After learning permaculture through practice John finished his permaculture design certification with Darrell as the lead instructor. Specializing in urban and suburban permaculture application and food production, John can help you design small and large spaces to become abundant producers of food for you and your family while supporting native wildlife and developing a more sustainable home.
