Design

John selects a few projects a year to focus on outside of his work with Garfield Community Farm. Each project focuses on the creation of a food producing garden through intelligent design and an understanding of landscape, soils and habitat. The design process begins with listening to the client and listening to the land, both equally important. A cyclical process continues as brainstorming of ideas brings about the dreams and ideas of the client. We strive to make a little bit of Eden in your outdoor living space where you'll want to spend time gardening and relaxing. We also strive to create a space that fills your kitchen with food and supports native wildlife. Other design elements that may be taken into consideration are passive solar design, water catchment and usage, grey water usage, and more.
